Stan Put from Bavel has had a great passion for tennis since he was 5 years old. He is number 1 in the ranking up to and including 12 years and is Dutch champion three times. He enjoys being on the track every day for training or competition.
He started with his first tennis lessons at the local association TV Bavel. Soon he was looking for more challenge and started training for more hours. It was quite a challenge to find peers in his immediate environment who were also so fanatically involved in tennis. In addition, Stan increasingly had training sessions and tournaments during school hours. With the transition to secondary school, he and his parents made the choice in 2021 to train at AMJOY in Veldhoven and start at Topsport Talent School Sint-Joriscollege. At AMJOY he immediately felt at home, he felt the same passion for tennis in both the players and the team of trainers.
The combination of school and a lot of training is perfectly arranged between AMJOY and Sint-Joris College. The school supports athletes with a LOOT status. The school has the flexibility to tailor and adapt the school schedule to its intensive training and competition program. Stan is in a class with only top athletes. This leads to more mutual understanding. Stan trains over 15 hours a week, including tennis and physical training. Stan travels back and forth between Bavel and Eindhoven almost every day. He stays with a host family once a week, goes by train or his parents bring and pick him up. In addition, he trains once a week at the national NTC in Amstelveen. His coach and private trainer Benjamin Reek gives Stan a lot of individual guidance and where possible he accompanies him with (international) tournaments.
They recently spent two weeks together in Miami to play the Orange Bowl (World Junior Championships). A month earlier, they were together at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca for the Tennis Europe U12 festival. In short, great international adventures to take his tennis to a higher level and to get used to traveling. From AMJOY International there are many possibilities to play international tournaments such as Tennis Europe tournaments. Stan now plays so many tournaments that it is not always possible for his parents to come along, so it is nice that he can travel with other players and a coach. A coach is always available to accompany the players on a journey.
Next year Stan will start as a 1st year with the Tennis Europe up to and including 14. Instructive to measure himself against older players. His goal is to start playing ITF tournaments and eventually the ATP tour and Grand Slams.
Until then, work hard and enjoy his route to the top!
